FCG Interior Design Case Study

Flow Control Group (FCG) was moving into a new headquarters. Symphonix gave the interior of their new HQ some brand TLC.

The Situation

Flow Control Group (FCG) made the strategic decision to consolidate several of their Charlotte-based brands into one centralized headquarters. This bold move meant completely changing their chosen location. They took it down to the studs and started fresh.

Walls were taken down, and new spaces were created. The whole layout was redesigned to form a modern, functional workspace. This new design meets the needs of their growing company.

From the very outset of this project, FCG called upon Symphonix for our expertise. We got involved even before the first construction phases began. This occurred before anyone built any walls, conference rooms, warehouses, or offices.

Our mission was to collaborate with FCG and help them envision the potential for their new environment, both inside and out. This meant brainstorming innovative design concepts, creating detailed plans for the layout and aesthetics, and ensuring that every element of the space would contribute to a cohesive and inspiring workplace. By working together from such an early stage, we were able to ensure that the final design not only met but exceeded FCG's expectations, setting the stage for their next chapter of growth and success.

The Symphonix Solution

Having FCG involve us from the very start of the project allowed us to contribute a wealth of ideas and enhance the concepts they initially envisioned. By being on-site, we were able to take precise measurements and determine the priority of each project element. This hands-on approach helped us understand the unique features of each space. This ensured our designs were on brand and fit well with the physical environment.

We had several rounds of concepts for each project area. In these rounds, we showed a wide variety of visual design elements. We also provided samples of various substrates and showcased visual examples from previous projects. This careful approach helped FCG understand how the final product would look and feel. It made it easier for them to picture the end result.

By offering detailed previews and real-world examples, we helped FCG make informed decisions, ensuring that every design aspect--from materials to overall installation direction--was meticulously planned and executed. This teamwork not only met but often surpassed FCG’s expectations. It created a unified, branded space that showed their vision and supported their needs.

The Execution

After we finalized the concepts, we started making print-ready files for each project. We followed their specific requirements. During this phase, we sought quotes from various vendors, each specializing in different aspects of the project. This approach ensured that we could deliver a professional product that was also cost-effective.

As production progressed, we developed a detailed calendar of deliverables, aligning our schedule with FCG's needs. This careful planning was important because FCG had a strict deadline. Everything had to be installed before their Headquarters Grand Opening event. Executives from around the world would be arriving for this event.

We not only met this deadline with time to spare but also exceeded the expectations of the visitors. We worked well with vendors and managed production timelines. We followed strict schedules to make sure the final installation was smooth and impressive. This helped make FCG's grand opening event a success.
